Project: App Design & User Experience

Role: Creative Director & Designer

As the first generation to really grow up with social media, I’ve always been fascinated by the psychology behind what drives consumer’s actions on different platforms. These days it’s hard to find a business or individual who doesn’t at least have one account on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, or Snapchat. Through my capstone, I sought to explore how are we as individuals are influenced by our digital presence and external sources.

With this guiding question in mind, I built the visual identity and wireframe for a new social media platform. One that does not contain any form of external engagement, stripping back the traditional system of social media to become a platform where the user is posting for an audience of one: themself. Due to this individualized approach, I sought to further the potential user’s personal experience by creating a system that was directly impacted by the user’s mood. The interface of the app is dependent upon the recorded moods for that experience allowing the user to make their own conclusions regarding the relationship between mood and other factors such as sleep, appetite, weather, or activities.
